Taproom Staff
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Taproom staff role is an integral part of day-to-day operations, as this position has directly interfaces with our customers and creates the taproom atmosphere. Staff will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, learning / knowing details about our beers, facilitating draft sales, opening and closing the taproom, managing sales of merchandise and to-go containers, and maintaining the cleanliness of the taproom. We are looking for individuals with a love of craft beer, have an interest in the industry, and an eagerness to be invested in their work.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can conduct themselves in a professional, friendly manner with good communication skills; someone who is motivated and has a passion for craft beer. Extensive experience is not a requirement, but an eagerness to learn and become a member of a productive professional team is essential.
TIMELINE: We are hiring for an current opening. Some training will be required prior the start of employment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a welcoming environment and provide an outstanding customer experience
Confirm each customer is of legal age and monitor customer’s alcohol consumption
Perform all duties related to payment processing and account for final daily sales
Maintain cleanliness and order of the taproom throughout shift
Perform opening and closing duties
Be knowledgeable about the beer styles being served
Ensure safe work conditions by following safety policies and procedures
Represent DBC and our values to our guests
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED required
Availability to work weekends and nights
Ability to become TIPs certified, if not already
Interest in craft beer
Positive, engaging personality and professional demeanor
Strong task and time management abilities
Attention to detail, good communication skills
BONUS QUALITIES:
English and Spanish speakers
Craft beer knowledge
A natural ability to work well under pressure all while keeping a positive demeanor and staying on task
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a part-time position working in a bar environment. This position requires the employee to interact with the public in a friendly and welcoming manner and handle all customer interactions with professionalism. This job requires a flexible weekly schedule including nights and weekends. The taproom is open Thursday – Sunday, hours will expand as we grow.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand for prolonged periods
Ability to navigate a crowded taproom
Ability to regularly lift/carry products weighing up to 50 pounds
COMPENSATION: $6.75 per hour + Tip Sharing

Cellarman / Assistant Brewer Position
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role is integral to our back of house operations. Our production staff will perform all day-to-day brewing and cellar operations under the direction and supervision of management. Production staff are responsible for the execution of all activities related to production operations at the brewery and performing all tasks by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a safe, cooperative, team-based fashion.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can adapt to any brewing environment and who can implement good production hygiene. Above all, they should have a deep passion for producing consistently high-quality beer and be eager to learn.
TIMELINE: We are hiring ahead of our opening in September. Beer production work will take place prior to opening.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to learn, perform, and troubleshoot all functions of the brewery and cellar per SOPs, including but not limited to: raw ingredient handling, wort production, yeast management, dry-hopping, clean-in-place-systems, quality assurance, data logging, record keeping, and general cleaning.
Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of environment and equipment in accordance with quality standards.
Adhere to safety protocols in all activities
Ensure minimal waste during manufacturing
Ensure that production areas are always organized
Communicate any known process or beer quality issues to management
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 21 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong attention to detail
Display a proactive, reliable, team-focused attitude
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information pertaining to brewing systems
Able to execute all tasks safely following SOPs
BONUS QUALITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in Brewing Science, Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field, or a brewing-related certification
Experience with brewing and cellaring systems
Prior experience brewing / cellaring at a production brewery
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This is a part-time position initially that will have the opportunity to become a full-time position working in a production brewing environment. Production is ultimately a manufacturing environment where cleanliness, sanitation, and safety are important to the success of the brewery. This job requires a flexible weekly schedule that could include weekends.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to regularly lift/carry products weighing up to 55 pounds
Ability to work in an indoor environment which may be loud, wet, slippery, hot, humid, or cold
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb a ladder, and work in confined spaces
Wear protective eye/ear wear, boots and gloves. Additional safety equipment may be required depending on task
Safely use production chemicals
COMPENSATION: $15 - $23 per hour; commensurate w/ experience
