What’s in a name?
We may have inadvertently quoted Shakespeare here, but the point is that names may be relative but the inherent value of them lies with the owner. So let’s explain the meaning behind our name and share that value with all of you…
In civil engineering, hydrology is the study of the earth’s water. This includes the water cycle we all had to learn about in school, but it’s also about how the water moves through and interacts with the earth’s surface. In hydrology, drawdown is a term for the lowering of the surface elevation of a body of water. Coincidentally, this is also the process of how beer is removed from a keg.
For us, hydrology is near and dear to our hearts given our founder’s civil engineering background. The intersection between engineering and the brewing process was too great to ignore.
